I took eighteen months to write this book. I began it when I realized there was a huge need for healing among my Facebook friends. Most of the women I work with have been released from the shackles of the abuse they’ve experienced. Yet, they are still shackled by the pain of their abuse in many ways. They have:

  • Feelings of grief, shame, betrayal and unworthiness
  • Depression, PTSD, physical ailments
  • The need to fight for custody of their kids
  • Strained relationships with friends, family and God
  • Fears about moving forward with their life.

I had and sometimes still do have similar needs. I wanted to explore ways to get past the pain in my own life, and to share what I learned with you. A Journey to Healing After Emotional Abuse is the outcome of my own journey, and the wisdom of many great counselors, abuse survivors and theologians. I asked Amy Craig, M.A., L.P.C to help me edit the book. Amy has worked with many abuse survivors and their children. She helped me make sure I was giving sound counseling advice.

I invite you to check out the book at the following link. On this page, you will see several reviews from people who have already read the book. I give a sampling below.

I pray this book will help you on your personal journey to healing, and that you will feel God’s love as you walk this path.

Many blessings my friends,

Caroline

Ms. Abbott has risen like a phoenix from the ashes of grave danger and fear to provide encouragement and be a role model of courage for her reader. She has been there but shows what the wholehearted life looks like once recovery has been achieved. Read this as manual, a devotional and as a workbook to take the necessary steps to live in the light of God’s faithful leadership and provision. – Mary Ellen Mann, LCSW, President of Mann Counseling Group, P.C. & President & Co-Founder of Last Battle, LLC (an outreach for the sexually violated) Author of From Pain to Power: Overcoming Sexual Trauma & Reclaiming Your True Identity
